Shopping on Lenovo

Likely the most famous Lenovo product is the range of ThinkPad laptops the company inherited from IBM. Perfect as a work computer for small, medium-sized and more sophisticated businesses, the ThinkPad comes in a wide variety of styles and, naturally, prices. Grab yourself a Lenovo discount code from our website and save big while getting the equipment you need to push your business to the next level.

If the ThinkPad is the world's most sold laptop with more than 100 million items produced, Lenovo hasn't only stuck to a winning formula. Instead, the company has developed a wide array of portable computers to suit all needs, from the Yoga 2-in-1 laptops to the foldable ThinkPad, the 14" IdeaPad or the super powerful Legion series, specifically designed for the most demanding gamers.

Lenovo also advertises a matching selection of desktops for personal and corporate use. Both the ThinkCenter tower CPUs and the all-in-one V series come together with the impressive Lenovo widescreen LED backlit monitors, a recognised top performer in the industry.

But Lenvo isn't just there for the computers. Since acquiring Motorola in 2014 the company had made deep inroads into the mobile technology market, in particular in the UK, where Motorola has long-standing relationships with mainstream carriers. The new range of hyper-responsive Motorola smartphones are super fast and boast a camera with surreal quality. With outstanding Lenovo deals on its full range of smartphones Motorola has burst back in the lucrative telecomms market like a blast from the past, just that now when you say Hello Moto, you're also implicitly greeting Lenovo!

Passionate about technology and committed to delivering the best in the business, Lenovo runs more than 40 research labs worldwide, applying the findings in their products and services. This heavy investment in R&D translates in the most used supercomputing data centre, as well as in pioneering AR and VR cameras such as the Mirage Solo.

From smart clocks to tailor-made cloud solutions, Lenovo has you covered.

About Lenovo

Lenovo isn't just an IT company, it is, as of 2019, the largest personal computer vendor in the world. If you have been to an IT store recently, then you have probably seen the ThinkPad, originally developed by IBM but under Lenovo ownership since the early Noughties. This laptop, or the affordable flat-screen monitors with which the company is usually associated, are but the tip of the iceberg. Lenovo is a pioneering technology firm with an impressive catalogue of products that go from smartphones and other smart devices, passing through PCs and tablets, and culminating in large data processing centres and laboratories where artificial intelligence is tested and developed.

Focused on innovation as its guiding principle, Lenovo prides itself in pushing normality to the limit with everyday products that put to use the findings of its extensive development programme. Whether it be in the customisation of a complex cloud system for an institutional client or in the enhanced functionality of its 21st century smart clock, Lenovo products and services always come with the promise of a brighter, smarter, superlative future.

Lenovo history

Despite its enormous success as a personal computer vendor, the story of Lenovo, at least at its origins, is actually a cautionary tale of misplaced ambition, minor setbacks, and unflinching determination.

First launched as Legend in Beijing in 1984, in the midst of China's economic reform and long before social and political unrest led to the Tiananmen Square protests, Legend was meant to import and adapt televisions for sale in the Chinese market. At the root of the initiative were 11 men, all of them engineers with little to no marketing experience, who secured a state-sponsored grant of approximately £50,000 to set up the company. Before thee end of 1985 the first incarnation of Lenovo had failed.

But scientists are nothing if not persistent, and this translated in the culture of the burgeoning IT firm. Legend regrouped and refocused, shifting its strategy towards adapting IBM personal computers instead, a move that proved more lucrative than TVs and that marked the beginning of a partnership that would eventually result in Lenovo acquiring IBM's personal computer business in 2005. By then Legend had been rebranded as Lenovo in an effort to move towards western markets, where the trademark for the rather generic original name could not be secured.

That was the beginning of an aggressive strategy that has taken Lenovo to the top of the global IT business. Targetted acquisitions and partnerships with Japanese, German and Brazilian firms have helped the firm grow outside of China, where it already enjoyed a fine share of the market. Purchasing Motorola from Google in 2014, Lenovo gave its mobile phone operation a definitive boost, and in 2015 the company rebranded, launching its current logo.

As of 2019 Lenovo employs more than 50,000 people worldwide and has grown into one of the flag carriers of China's economic success story.
